Tamang Film Development
and Research Centre (TFDRC) is a non-profit making
organization formed by Tamang film makers, film
journalists, artists/actors and activists. This
organization was formed and registered as non-governmental
organization (NGO) in district administrative
office in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2010. TFDRC has
been also registered in social welfare council
of Nepal.
It was formed with the goal of establishing a
well equipped tamang movies, in which all sorts
of films and films related materials will be available,
screening and discussion will beorganized and
research based documentaries and films will be
produced on tamang subject matters. In this way,
TFDRC seeks to help Tamang nationalities protect,
promote and revitalize their culture, customs
and traditons. Tamang indigenous nationalities
in a situation at marginalied. Tamang is an indigenous
nationality with district collective identy, own
language, religion, tradition, culture and civilization,
traditional egalitarian social structure, homeland
or geographical area. |
